Neil Squire specializes in Digital Literacy, Assistive Technology and Workplace Ergonomic services to persons with a disability throughout New Brunswick who are pursuing an employment goal or participating in post-secondary education. These services can also be accessed by individuals that are supporting persons with a disability in achieving their employment goals.

Neil Squire Employment

In the Fredericton area, we also provide employment-related services. The objective of this service is to improve the “employability” of individuals by providing specific employment services in the job search and employment maintenance dimensions of employability. We also assist grade 12 students who are preparing to transition to employment/training following graduation, or adult clients who may require a career change due to their disability. We help them in acquiring the skills, training and/or education needed to meet their employment goal requirements and to become “Workforce Ready".

The Deaf community face many barriers throughout their day as they navigate the world around them that has been set up for hearing individuals. NBDHHS/SSMNB has a goal to enable Deaf, hard of hearing and deafened people to live independent productive lives, with full access to the services and opportunities available to the hearing populations.

We work hard to ensure public programs are made accessible and inclusive for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. To accomplish this, we provide numerous programs and services that focus on transitional and early intervention in order to bridge the gap between the hearing and hard of hearing/Deaf world. We provide interpreting services, assistance in gaining useful employment, advocacy service, public policy initiatives, assistive technology, as well as children and adult educational programs to a population of any age. We work to empower this community and their families, to develop the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful, and inclusive members of the population. This is a community that has a rich culture and resilience. 

Fredericton Works Program (Fredericton region only)

Fredericton Works is a non-profit agency provided by The Saint John Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services Inc. and funded by Post-Secondary Education Training and Labour, New Brunswick.

Fredericton Works' goal is to enable Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deafened persons to live independent productive lives, with full access to the services and opportunities available to the hearing populations.

We provide employment counseling for people with disabilities and barriers to finding work. Our team of professionals will assist in your search for employment with one-on-one counseling.

Our mandate is to provide employment related services to people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Options Employment Outreach Inc. offers a full range of employment counselling services (serving those 18+) including assistance with resumes, cover letters, and mock interviews. Options also has a range of unique services including:

- Access to funding for accommodations, assistive technology, and wage subsidies

- Individualized planning for each client that could include work with community partners to ensure full support

- Information and registration to free training opportunities offered in the community

- Access to labour market research, employment trends, and employer information

- Assistance in every step of the way for those moving into post-secondary, including help completing student loans (and Canada Study Grants), meetings with learning strategists, and job search for both summer jobs and jobs after graduation

- Free access to the Options' Client Corner, a fully accessible office for clients to use as a place for a job search and research specific to employment or post-secondary education.

Options' mission is to foster positive change for people with disabilities through meaningful employment and assistance in planning for post-secondary education. 

Restigouche Residential Agency Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides clients with disabilities the specialized services they need to reach their full potential.

Restigouche Residential Agency Inc. provides transition and employment counselling in the form of coaching and counselling for clients with disabilities. It’s responsible for organizing, coordinating and delivering personalized and individualized support services during the job search phase as well as in the workplace. Our main objectives are to help individuals with disabilities develop new skills that will to help them integrate into the workplace and raise awareness with employers of the potential of people with disabilities.

We also coordinate the accommodations plan for persons with disabilities. We make sure to develop, implement and coordinate individualized accommodation plans for students referred under the ""Employment and Training Support Service"" (SSEF) program, who are pursuing training such as (Adult Learning, GED, Academic upgrading, Specific Training, Post-Secondary Training, etc.). 

Vie Autonome Péninsule Acadienne is an accredited member of Independent Living Canada and serves all disabilities.

We are a not-for-profit organization that helps people living with disabilities achieve independence by providing them the tools they need to consider all their options, make educated choices, make their own decisions and be accountable. We promote integration and full participation.

Our mission is to promote and foster progressive autonomy for people living with disabilities and to help them develop and manage their personal and community resources.

Our 4 core programs mandated by Independent Living Canada are:

1. Peer-to-peer support.

2. Information and networking.

3. Independent living and advocacy skills development.

4. Community research and development.

VAPA provides individuals with clear, accurate and up-to-date information that meets their immediate needs and provides opportunities for people to share their experiences and knowledge.

Vision Loss Rehabilitation NB specializes in the provision of vision rehabilitation, transition and employment services for people who have a sight loss in New Brunswick . The service provides specialized assessment, service coordination, employment-related alternative skill development for blind and low vision individuals, assistive technology training, awareness training for others, vision-specific solutions for job seeking, retention and study, crisis intervention and workplace accessibility assessments.
